Programme Note

Aléia as well as Ipê Amarelo and Samambaia were inspired by a visit to Rio de Janeiro’s Botanical Gardens. Aléia is the Portuguese for a tree-lined avenue. The pointed crowns of the Cupressus Sempervirens stretch skywards, upright and eternal, trying to carve out a slice of blue.
