Programme Note

Samambaia as well as Ipê Amarelo and Aléia were inspired by a visit to Rio de Janeiro’s Botanical Gardens. Samambaia should have all the horizontal fluidity and harmonic dexterity of the bossa-nova – this is my humble tribute to the great Tom Jobim, with whom I wanted to walk the Serra do Mar, steeping myself in his southern intuition.
