Programme Note

The title 'Water and Stone' suggests various reflections of light when water flows over different colour stones, and also various phases of water itself. It is linked with my previous works, 'Echo Canyon' and 'Frozen Horizon', both of which were inspired by nature and landscapes: the former by Bryce Canyon in Utah and the latter by the icy landscape of northern Norway. However, 'Water and Stone' was my imaginary landscape so I can not specify the place. One could imagine a Japanese garden, but my image was rather abstract and transformable, like a dream.
