Programme Note

A New Beginning was written for the closing minutes of 1999, to herald the New Millenium.
People priase God for having many names, when they see that he says of himself 'I am who I am' (Exodus 3, 14), or again Life, Light, God, Truth. The Divine Origin is simultaneously at the heart of the universe and far beyond the sky, sun, stars, fire, water, wind, dew, cloud, rock, stone, and in a word all that is and nothing that is. SO write St Dionysios the Areopagite.
A New Beginning is a prayer that God may continue to pour down his endless love into the paradise that we have systematically turned into a hell. Have mercy on us all. Alleluia.


A New Beginning
an Acclamation for the Millenium 2,000 A.D.

Let there be
respect for the earth, O Lord;
peace for Your people, O Lord;
love in our lives,
delight in the good, O Lord;
forgiveness for past wrongs, O Lord;
and from now on, a new beginning, O Lord.
