• The instruments come in softly; the bows scratch across the strings. A frosty world comes into being, in which the slow strokes in the upper registers seem like the songs of dying animals. One can also really hear the frost patterns growing. Yet there is hope. The plucking of the strings sounds like the dripping of melting ice.
