Programme Note

This work should be performed with ecstatic solemnity. It is as though the slowly shifting chords are a resonance from Eternity. The supreme Sanskrit syllable OM at the end represents the Infinite: after a bell-like attack, 30 seconds of humming should gently resonate around the building in calm contemplation.
