Programme Note
This score uses modern clef conventions for the voices throughout, and modern Italian spelling. Dynamic and instrumental directions given in brackets are editorial. Handel used the terms Hautbois and Basson for Oboe and Bassoon, but this score uses the conventional Italian Oboe and Fagotto. The Trumpets are shown at pitch (but appear as transposing instruments in the parts) and the Horns are shown as transposing instruments in B flat alto in both score and parts.
