  • Ave Maria shows a similar feeling for the ecstatic choral sound, again molto espressivo. On paper appearing slightly easier than Locus iste, it nevertheless requires a choir on top form to do it justice. There are inviting melodic motifs, which stand out a little from the texture, and plenty of ensemble and intonation challenges. Some (optional) low Cs for the second basses also provide some technical challenge. Fine dynamic control is a must.
