A new opera with music by Peter Maxwell Davies and libretto by David Pountney has received rave reviews at its opening in London. The rest of the run is sold-out.

The opera was commissioned by the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Juilliard School in New York. The performances in New York will take place November 2011.
