sparks, waves and horizons for large orchestra by Minas Borboudakis will be premiered on February 23, 2024 in Munich by the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Duncan Ward at the Herkulessaal of the Residenz München. The work was commissioned by the musica viva Festival.
The title was chosen with the purpose to give the listeners certain impulses to approach the music. They should immerse themselves into the music, but still be free when listening.
Although the three elements are captured musically, my piece is not about a program. It is much more about the energy that is contained in these moments. The energy that you feel when you look at a spark, a wave or the horizon.
