Programme Note
Depart (1986), for acting flautist and tape, was written as a farewell piece at the end of my study year in San Diego. The tape was made in a small, antique eight-track studio at the University, and you will hear, among other sound sources, the Pacific Railway's afternoon express to Los Angeles.
