Programme Note

'Responsorium' is a very personal tribute to a friend. I wrote a canon based on a 5-note figure which repeats itself bearing Annon Lee's name. Quite by chance, the cannon which is a prayer from the Funeral Service, elapsed after Annon Lee's name had been sung 32 times.

Annon Lee Silver was 32 years when she died so tragically two months ago.

'Suscipiat te Christus, qui vocavit te: et in sinum Abrahe Angeli deducant te'.

'May Christ, who called you away, take you to Himself, and may angels lead you into Abraham's bosom.'
